Apel·les Carod (violin) and Cristian Hernández (guitar)

Pau Gil Hall
Sunday 15 April - 19:00

Violinist Apel·les Carod and guitarist Cristian Hernández form a lyrical, dynamic jazz duo. The complicity of their friendship and the baggage of their musical experiences form the basis for a reinterpretation of a repertoire of jazz, swing, and bossa nova, and the reinvention of popular and classical pieces, always with the free approach of jazz.

Cristina Hernández is a jazz guitarist and composer who studied at the ESMUC. In 2015 she presented her album, A Strings Affair, which has received good reviews nationally and internationally. She has performed on emblematic Barcelona stages such as Jamboree, the Auditori and the Palau Reial de Pedralbes and, now, as well as participating in various musical projects, teaches at the Municipal School of Music and Dance in Tiana.

Apel·les Carod is a jazz violinist and composer. He studied at the ESMUC and went on to the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York.
