Back La Nit dels Museus a Sant Pau

A varied range of musical sounds at the Art Nouveau Site for Museum Night

Next Saturday 19 May, the Art Nouveau Site opens its doors free of charge from 19:00 to 1:00 in the morning, once again joining in the initiative organised by the ICUB.

To celebrate International Museum Day, visitors will be able to enjoy Sant Pau’s exhibition and heritage spaces outside normal hours. Plus there’ll be music filling the gardens of the old hospital: jazz, rhythm and blues, and soul are the three proposals this year.

The vintage music of Shakin’All raises the curtain at 19:00. A fun concert, a festival of jazz, with songs from the ‘20s, ‘30s, and ‘40s, versions of Louis Jordan, Ray Charles, Fats Domino, Louis Prima, etc.,  performed by six musicians specialising in classical jazz.

At 20:30, Myriam Swanson & The Rhythm Treasures take the stage. This rhythm and blues band is led by Myriam Swanson, one of the leading voices of black music in Europe. The band will be offering a repertoire from the late ‘50s and early ‘60s, including little known works. Their energy on stage won’t leave anyone indifferent!

The last band of the evening, at 22:00, is the Soul Beams from Terrassa, set up to promote soul music in their city. Their repertoire includes soul classics by Aretha Franklin alongside neo-soul works like those by Amy Winehouse and Alicia Keys. This 12-member formation is a miscellaneous mix of fun and quality.
